JENNIFER BLECHER is an associate attorney at Clapp Family Law. Jen began her legal career working as a criminal prosecutor, conducting trials of serious crimes ranging from financial fraud to domestic violence. Jen’s experience working with a wide range of victims is the basis for the detail orientated, compassionate advocacy that she employs on behalf of her family law clients. She excels at digging through complex documents without losing sight of a case’s ultimate objective.

Between working as a criminal prosecutor and joining Clapp Family Law, Jen took time away from the practice of law to raise children and hone her writing skills. Jen is a published children’s author; she has written and published four novels for young adults. Working in the literary realm cemented Jen’s interest in the complexity of human stories. One of her superpowers as an attorney is helping clients put their narratives into words and frame their life experiences so that they feel understood by the presiding judge.

Jen is a member of both the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations’ Family Law Sections and the Massachusetts Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. She is an active volunteer with the Volunteer Lawyers Project.

Outside of work, Jen enjoys reading novels, playing mahjong with friends, and cheering for her three daughters in their many different endeavors. She is likely to be found at a squash tournament, a lacrosse game, or an equestrian event, peering through covered eyes as she nervously watches her daughters compete. She is a mediocre tennis player and downhill skier, with little hope for improvement in both activities! Jen’s family has a dog named Winnie, who is named after her favorite character in children’s literature.
